Is it the sign for the Republican?

The result of the election in several states yesterday has shown the sign of the Republican deteriorating poll number.

Obviously Bush has lost his magic to energize his base in Virginia to elect Jerry W. Kilgore. The red state that Bush won decisively last year elected the Democrat Governor. Crozine- the Democrat- won the New Jersey as a new Governor.

Isn’t it a sign for the Republican sinking popularity? Definitely.

Do they realize it? Totally.

This is why they are running around like a mad man to try to act tough in front of their base. Today, the Senate summoned the big oil companies’ executives and proposed the windfall profit tax. Since they and we all know that this is a non-starter policy, they politely ask the oil companies to donate 10 percent of their profit to help the low income people to pay for the heat this winter. Why I said it was a non-starter policy? Given the President and the Vice-President of the United States as the former oil executives, and most of the politicians receive money from those companies, there are no ways in the world this policy will sail.

To cope with the harsh criticism from the whole country about their spending, today, the Republican House majority came up with the grand plan to cut their spending. With their dinosaur mindset, they will cut the student loans, the Medicare and the veteran benefits. No one mention about porks and the tax cut for the rich. Again, the rich will always benefit from either in a bad time or a good time.

Nancy Pelosi came up strongly and condemned the irresponsibility of this plan. All Democrat will vote against it.

Obviously, the Republican is deteriorating and people start questioning about their leadership. However, how the Democrat will capitalize this time is crucial. These are the puzzles that the Dem have to solve.

1. How the Dem distinguish themselves from the Republican in term of their own value, convictions and policy?
2. What is the most important issue that matter to the American people? How they harmonize the god issue and the real issue?
3. Why American people should trust the Dem more than the Republican?

Democrats have to assure the American people that they are a better choice than the Republican. People might want to vote for the Democrat but if they do not see the difference between these two parties and believe that the Democrat is not a better choice, they are more than likely to stick with the Republican.

To stick with the already known devil is better than to go with another not-known one.
