Ann Coulter on the cover of Time magazine

04/18/05

I am furious to see her picture
on the cover of Time magazine.
She is one of the most outrageous right wing icons (Yeah, don’t
forget to count this hypocritical
Rush Limbaugh who once announced in his radio show that anyone who use any kinds of drugs should be put to death. Hypocrisy and conservatism are always twins. This moral setter was the one who had been popping the OxyContin like candies for a decade).

I admire Ann for her bluntness and not being afraid of expressing her belief. However, I find a lot of things that she has spat out are hard to comprehend.

The most outrageous comments
that I have ever heard was when the CNN interviewed her on the allegation that this Administration invading Iraq because of oil fields.

I was so surprised with her answer.

She said something like what’s wrong with invading other countries for oil? We were the strongest country in the world and we should be able to do anything we wanted to do. I was afraid that if all those conservatives had the same world views, this world would be in chaos. The United States would invade every country to obtain any resources they wanted. I thought she had opened a dangerous implication even in the smaller scale like the society.

For example, if some horny men were walking down the street and saw her skinny ass, in her opinion, it would be totally legitimate for those men to gangbang her on the street. It is a dangerous mindset that if we are stronger, we can do whatever we want without concerning about the laws.

Anyway, Time magazine just reminds me of how controversial she is. I am not sure if she really spits those fires out just to create an outrage and make herself feel like a celebrity or she really thinks that way.

But those outrageous comments do work. She becomes a superstar for those red-staters and her books are the best sellers.

Hate her or love her, her name is getting bigger than ever.
