Alanis Morissette Concert

11/21/05

It’s the 11th year anniversary for her first album – Jagged Little Pill. If you remember, Alanis was huge back then. Her image was like a rebellious girl. Her music was great and her music VDO was amazing- if you remember- You’ll Learn and Ironic.

It’s been 11 years but her music still rides along with time and trend. Yeah it’s been 11 year, now I feel like an old man.

Her concert is held at the Roseland Theater in the Mid Town. It is a cold night. The line for the concert wraps around the block but my friend and I are so excited to see her concert. It takes us around 30 minutes to get into the theater and another 30 minutes for her to start the concert.

She still has her hardcore fans like us. The Roseland Theater is packed.

Her voice is very unique and it’s not different from the CD at all. However, I think her dress is a little bit off the concert and her music. I mean her dress should be a little bit more casual than her red girly shirt. I tell my friend that within 10 years Alanis has grown up from a wild girl to a gentler woman. Or maybe she gets the hottest boyfriend right now so she has to be more like a sweet woman than a rebellious girl.

Most of the songs she sings are from the first album. I stand right close to the stage so I can see every move of her performance. She is great. Everyone on the stage seems to enjoy the performance. We sing and jump along the music particularly when my favorite song- You’ll Learn starts.

The energy in the concert is amazing.

I am so happy to have a chance to see her concert finally. Thanks to my friend Oates.

But I wish she sang – That I would be good. I really love this song. In particular, when I am in the middle of the storm like right now, it just reminds me that I would be good no matter what happen.

The version I am playing here is an acoustic one. It is so beautiful.
