Confession on the Dance Floor

08/03/06

This is a second time that I see this magnificent Confession on the Dance Floor of my sassy Madonna’s concert. The first time was on the 3rd of July with 24 friends all together at Madison Square Garden. After Hung Up was over the first night, I told myself that I had to see her again. Believe it or not she is the only one artist who I see her concert twice (One of my friends see her 7 times!!).

Confession on the Dance Floor, for me, is much better than the last two concerts- Drowned World Tour and Reinvention. The production in this concert is much grander and the selected songs are a lot better. This time she does not sing a lot of her hit songs, in particular my favorite Holidays, but mostly her songs from new album. But I have no complains at all because since Ray of Light, I think, this album is the best so far.

My favorite part in this concert is when the whole stage background changed to the skyline of New York City and then she blasts “I Love New York” follows by “Ray of Light”. The whole Madison Square Garden is shaken by the fabulous New Yorkers.

The crowd in New York City has so much energy. We jump, we sing and we dance whenever we can. We are spontaneous and have so much fun. Unlike other cities I am told that the crowd was mostly quiet and just sat down. Madonna herself declares her love of this great city and audiences. During the concert, it reminds me of Bill Graham’s preaching session. Madonna is like a Goddess. People are worshipping her. But instead of singing Hallelujah, we sing “I Love New York, I Love New York, I Love New York”.

Two hours of my Confession on the Dance Floor flies like a rocket. The night is over with her last set of Disco Mania theme. Hung Up is the last song to close the dance floor, we are dancing like no tomorrow.

The punch line of the night that shows the real Madonna is when she said “Don’t ever let anyone tell you that your dream will never come true….Fuck it, fuck it.” AMEN!!!

I still remember when I first saw her concert, Drowned World Tour, 5 years ago in Boston. I was so excited. I could not believe I was be able to see her concert after she was absent for a long time. Who could believe that I would be able to come to the United States to have my MBA here and see Madonna? After that concert, I told myself; at least I had seen one of the greatest artists in the world, so I guess I could go see God right now

I have to say many thanks to my friend Oates who make my two confessions on the dance floor happen.
