Last year, with
everyone’s compassion to show how much we cared about AIDS
patients in our fragile community and to stop this epidemic, I raised
money around $400 in two weeks. Again, thank you very much for everyone’s
support.
This year, I raise my fundraising goal to $1,000 and beyond. Even though AIDS Walk New York 2007 will not occur until May 20, to have a head start, I decide to send out the donation form one and half month earlier. This how it works; I will be the one who walks (and also donates) on May 20 (and of course everyone is welcomed to walk with me on that day as well) and you pledge whatever amount to sponsor my walk. All money that I raise will go to the AIDS Walk New York and they will distribute that money to the HIV related organizations in the tri-states areas in order to fight against AIDS and to improve the lives of thousands of men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS, and those at greatest risk for infection. Every week I will summarize how much money I have received through this website and publicly thank those generous individuals to sponsor my walk and fight against AIDS. In 2006, more than 45,000 people, a crowd as diverse as the city itself, participated in AIDS Walk New York and raised a record-breaking sum of more than $6.7 million. This year let’s break another record and show everyone around us how much we care about our friends and community. Please forward this website to your friends and family and encourage them to sponsor this great event!! To learn more about AIDS Walk New York, please visit AIDS Walk New York Thank you very much Tae- sagicaprio Tribute: This page is inspired by an artist- Daniel Hong who was ahead of his time before blogging became an Internet craze. He created this page to raise money for the project – Walk for Hunger in Boston in 2002 before he committed suicide when he was 24 years old. Even though I’ve never had a chance to meet him in person, to read about his life, to see his great artistic works like photography, drawing, writing and Web design, I have been deeply touched by his talents and beautiful soul. Unfortunately, the storm had swept him away from this life stage before he could even share his gift to this world. Wherever you are in this vast and magnificent universe, I just want to let you know how much I admire you and at one time I wish I had half of your talents and abilities…. and I still pray for you…. May you rest in peace forever…..
